Η ιδέα για το little rocks ξεκίνησε το 2013 από την Πετρούλα την ζωγράφο της παρέας και την επιθυμία της να δημιουργήσει κάτι καινούργιο και ασυνήθιστο, αλλά πάντα μέσα στα πλαίσια των περιβαλλοντικών αρχών Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. Το little rocks θέλει να δημιουργήσει κάτι που προωθεί έναν εναλλακτικό τρόπο ζωής που σέβεται τον άνθρωπο και το περιβάλλον. Παράγουμε μια σειρά απο fair-wear / οικολογικά t-shirt με αυθεντικά πρωτότυπα σχέδια με μεταξοτυπίες με χρώματα νερού, και διακοσμητικά, χρηστικά αντικείμενα όπως ρολόγια, πινακάκια, κρεμάστρες, κοσμήματα και άλλα!
Tell us a bit about yourself.
We are eco brand active since 2013. Waste not, want not – that’s our aim at little rocks. We are a small brand with our studio based in Athens Greece. Headed up by Petroula Krigkou (our illustrator) the upcycling company little rocks sprung into being out of her desire to create something new and unusual, while staying true to the environmental tenets of reduce, reuse, recycle. Petroula combined forces with partner Dimitri (production managing), sister Mari (jewelry maker) and her husband Reamonn (a very complicated Irish carpenter). That is how little rocks truly became a family affair. And our family keeps on growing.
Most of our products are made from recycled or upcycled material. We also have a line of clothing, each character is created is unique. Our t-shirts are made from 100% organic cotton, tensel or bamboo. We work with companies that are dedicated to reducing their CO2 footprint and are part of the fair wear foundation, which aims to protect workers rights within the garment industry.

Γύρω μας όλα μας δίνουν έμπνευση! Από τη kitsch pop κουλτούρα, από ταινίες, μουσική, φαγητό, το χιούμορ και από μικρές λεπτομέρειες!
What inspires you and where do your ideas come from?
All our ideas and inspiration comes from everything around us. From kitsch pop culture, movies, music, food, humor and the small details.
Ποια είναι τα αγαπημένα σας υλικά;
Το ξύλο είναι αυτό που αγαπάμε γιατί μπορούμε να το μεταλλάσουμε εύκολα και να το ανακυκλώσουμε.
Επίσης μας αρέσει το χρώμα σαν υλικό, από πλαστικό απλό μέχρι και κηρομπογιές είναι απο τα αγαπημένα μας υλικά.
What are your favorite materials?
We love to use wood because we can transform it easily and recycle it and is earth friendly!
Also we love color from plane paint for walls to oil pastels.
Γιατί κάποιος να αγοράσει κάτι χειροποίητο;
Γιατί είναι διαφορετικό και μοναδικό.
Why should somebody buy handmade?
Because it's different and one of a kind.
Εκτός από το να δημιουργείτε με τι άλλο ασχολείστε;
(Πετρούλα) Εκτός από little rocks εικονογραφώ παιδικά βιβλία και συμμετάσχω σε δίαφορες εκθέσης ζωγραφικής! Η Μάρη η αδερφή μου εκτός από τα κοσμήματα είναι και μια γλυκύτατη μαμά, ο Raymond εκτός από το να κάνει τη σκληρή δουλειά του ξεπροκιάσματος και κατασκευής όλων των ξύλινων αντικειμένων μας είναι μηχανικός πλοιών και πολύ-πολύ ταξιδεμένος και ο Δημήτρης εκτός από το να βάζει όλα αυτά σε μια σειρά και να μας συντονίζει όλους και όλα ασχολείται με το σκύλο μας το Ροτζερ!
Apart from creating things, what do you do?
(Petroula) Other than little rocks I illustrate children’s books and I participate in various art exhibitions. My sister Mari other than making our jewellery she is a proud mommy. As well as having the very hard job of denailing all those pallets and making all of little rocks wooden products he is a boat engineer and has been a big traveller. Last Dimitri other than putting everything and us in order he spends a lot of time with our dog, Roger!
Πώς προωθείτε τη δουλειά σας;
Τη δουλειά μας τη προωθούμε μέσα απο αρκετά social media και market που συμμετάσχουμε κατα καιρούς στην Αθήνα, όπως το Μeet Μarket.
How do you promote your work?
We promote our work through social media and also participate in some markets in Athens, like the Μeet Μarket.
Μιλήστε μας για το χώρο εργασίας σας.
Και οι δύο χώροι εργασίας μας (ξυλουργείο - δημιουργικό) γίνεται μόνιμα ένας χαμός, όσο και αν προσπαθούμε να το τακτοποιούμε! Αλλά τους αγαπάμε πολύ γιατί είμαστε κάθε μέρα εκεί πιο πολλες ώρες άπο οτι στο σπίτι μας!
Tell us about your working space.
Both of our studio spaces (woodwork - creative) are always a mess no matter how hard we try to keep them tidy! But we love them because we spend more hours in them than our homes.
Ποιο είναι το αγαπημένο σας εργαλείο;
Για τον κάθε ένα μας είναι και κάτι διαφορετικό! Μας αρέσουν τα μολύβια μας, τα πινέλα μας, τα τρυπάνια μας, τα σφυριά μας, τα καρφωτικά μας κ.α.
Which is your favorite tool?
We all like something different. We like our pencils, our drills, our paintbrushes, our nail guns, our hammers.
Έχετε κάποιον να σας βοηθάει στο κατάστημά σας στο Etsy;
Δεν έχουμε κάποιον που μας βοηθάει με το etsy shop μας αλλά μας βοήθησαν αρκετά team leaders του etsy greek street team με ερωτήσεις που τους κάναμε. Όπως και διάφοροι etsy shop owners μας βοήθησαν πολύ με τις συμβουλές τους.
Do you have somebody who helps you with your Etsy shop?
We don’t have someone helping us with our Etsy shop, although we got great help and tips from the leaders of the Etsy Greek Street Team. Also we were very lucky to meet lovely etsy shop owners that gave us great advice!
