I see white. Shapes, pleats, origami folds, volume, architectural details, all look clear and crisp when executed in white. White is an excellent canvas to showcase design. White is a big fashion trend for spring and summer. Total white is the look. Sometimes with a bit of metallic, here and there. If I wasn't always such a hazard to my own clothes, spilling stuff on them or rubbing on the wrong surfaces, well, if not, white would be very prevalent in my wardrobe this summer.
Τα βλέπω όλα λευκά. Όχι δεν έχει χιονίσει (δυστυχώς). Βλέπω σχήματα, πιέτες, οριγκάμι, όγκο, αρχιτεκτονικές λεπτομέρειες. Όλα φαίνονται πιο καθαρά και σε ένα λευκό καμβά. Το άσπρο είναι ένας εξαιρετικός τρόπος για να προβάλεις το design και την ιδέα σου πάνω σε ένα ρούχο. Το λευκό ως τάση μόδας για την άνοιξη και το καλοκαίρι, κυριάρχησε σε όλες τις επιδείξεις. Ολόλευκο, από την κορφή ώς τα νύχια ή με μερικές μεταλλικές πινελιές εδώ κι εκεί. Αν δεν είχα τις καταστροφικές τάσεις να ρίχνω πράγματα πάνω στα ρούχα μου ή να τα ακουμπάω στις λάθος επιφάνειες, αν όχι λοιπόν, τότε αυτή τη σεζόν πολλά ρούχα στην γκαρνταρόμπα μου θα ήτανε λευκά.
There are many ways to wear white. One is the architectural way. Clothes that resemble landmarks, monuments and buildings. Sometimes when you look at them you are not exactly sure how it's done, or if they actually use fabric for them. Issey Miyake, Alexander McQueen and Fendi are masters of construction for this type of clothing.
Υπάρχουν πολλοί τρόποι για να φορέσεις λευκό, ένας από αυτούς είναι ο "αρχιτεκτονικός" τρόπος. Με ρούχα που θυμίζουν κτίρια και μνημεία. Τις περισσότερες φορές όταν τα βλέπεις για πρώτη φορά σε συνεπαίρνουν και αναρωτιέσαι για το πως είναι φτιαγμένα, ή αν όντως είναι φτιαγμένα από ύφασμα. Οι Issey Miyake, Alexander McQueen και Fendi είναι εξαιρετικά παραδείγματα κατασκευής για τέτοιου είδους γλυπτών ρούχων.

The other way is much simpler and will appeal to the minimalist among you. Crisp white clothes, with edge details, angles, straight lines and rectangular shapes. A dress with plunging neckline accentuated by square edges (Jil Sander) or a geometric coat (Pedro Lourenco) will work just fine.
Ο άλλος τρόπος είναι απλούστερος και θα αρέσει στις μινιμαλίστριες ανάμεσα μας. Λευκά ρούχα με οξείες γωνίες, άκρες, ευθείες γραμμές και τετραγωνισμένα σχήματα. Ένα φόρεμα με βαθύ ντεκολτέ και γωνίες (Jil Sander) ή ένα γεωμετρικό μίνιμαλ παλτό (Pedro Lourenco) είναι πολύ καλά παραδείγματα αυτού του στυλ.

When ghe designer uses white as the canvas, design choices and techniques become so much clearer. You can add volume anywhere, for example at the sleeves (Delpozo) or at the collar (Rick Owens) or simple enlarge a piece of the ensemble, like the belt (Gianfranco Ferre).

Or there are clothes that play with the fabric, fold it, pleat it, gather it, treat it like origami. Cushnie et Ochs creates unusual cutouts and harnesses and use gathering, while Jay Ahr and Narciso Rodriguez play with fabric folds and pleating.
Υπάρχουν και ρούχα που ο σχεδιαστής έχει παίξει με το ύφασμα, το διπλώνει, δημιουργεί πιέτες, σούρες, σαν να ασχολείται κάποιος με οριγκάμι. Οι Cushnie et Ochs παίζουν με ασυνήθιστα κοψίματα, τιράντες και σούρα για να δημιουργήσουν ένα φόρεμα, ενώ οι Jay Ahr και Narciso Rodriguez χρησιμοποιούν τεχνικές διπλώματος.
