DiY home decor - recycle empty bottles and pots


 
Amazing candle holders and vases, made from bottles and vessels from yogurt!
Υπέροχα κηροπήγια και βαζάκια, από μπουκάλια και δοχεία γιαουρτιού!


Have you eaten your yogurt and drunk your wine and you have bottles and vessels left
over’s? Wrong… you have simple materials that can decorate your house
corners, by just using your imagination.
Beautiful candle holders from yogurt’s earthen vessels and small vases from bottles!

Φάγατε το γιαουρτάκι ή ήπιατε το κρασάκι σας και σας περίσσεψαν σκουπίδια; Λάθος… σας
περίσσεψαν απλά υλικά που μπορούν με λίγη φαντασία να ομορφύνουν γωνιές του σπιτιού
σας. Όμορφα κηροπήγια από πήλινα γιαουρτιού και μικρά βάζα με μπουκάλια!


You will need:
✂Knitting yarn
✂Scissors
✂Bottle
✂Clay yogurt’s vessel
✂glue

θα χρειαστείτε:
✂ κλωστές πλεξίματος
✂ ψαλίδι
✂ παχύρευστη κόλλα
✂ μπουκάλια
✂ πήλινο δοχείο γιαουρτιού

 

Put some glue vertically, in a few points of the vessel. Start from the bottom and  put the thread around the vessel or the bottle. Continue putting the yarn around and stop when the vessel looks as colorful as you want. 
 .
Βάζουμε κόλλα κάθετα σε αρκετά σημεία του πήλινου. Ξεκινάμε από τη βάση του και κολλάμε
τη κλωστή πλεξίματος γύρω γύρω! Συνεχίζουμε να κολλάμε τη κλωστή μέχρι το σημείο που
θεωρούμε ότι είναι αρκετά «γεμάτο» το αντικείμενο μας.

 
Did you miss a spot? No problem. In that case you are using one kind of a thread, put glue and then put more thread on the gap. In case you want to create a design, you may cover the empty space with another kind of thread or another color.

Σας ξέφυγε σε ένα σημείο και κάνει κενό; Κανένα πρόβλημα. Αν έχετε σκοπό να χρησιμοποιήσετε ένα είδος κλωστής, απλά περάστε εκ νέου από πάνω. Αν θέλετε να κάνετε σχεδιάκια, μπορείτε να καλύψετε το κενό με άλλο χρώμα ή είδος κλωστής.


Just use your imagination and let yourself to create cute decorative with threads or with old textiles or cords.

Αφήστε τη φαντασία σας να οργιάσει και δημιουργείστε υπέροχα μικρά διακοσμητικά με κλωστές ή παλιά υφάσματα σε λωρίδες ή με σπάγκο.

Italian Pizza



Italian Pizza Recipe from Lise of TreLiz 
 
Ingredients
1 tbs active dried yeast
250 gr white flour (you should have some extra for dusting)
 1/2 cup water
A pinch of salt
1. Pour 1/2 cup of water into a bowl and sprinkle over the yeast. Stir to dissolve. (the water should be just a bit hot, so the yeast will dissolve more easily)
2. Add the flour, little by little, stir and mix well. You can do this with the hands or the mixer. (much smoother mix with mixer…plus, the process will be finished in NO TIME). At this time, you can add a pinch of salt. (this is optional, don’t panic if you forget this little step…the ingredients that you will put on the pizza afterwards will have plenty of salt and taste…!)
3. Cover the bowl with a moisture towel. Leave it to rest for 30 mins.



TA-DAAAAA!!!!
You have fluffy and smooth dough!
To shape the dough, lift a ball of dough on to a lightly floured work surface and lightly flour the top. Flatten the dough with your fingers before picking it up and slapping it onto your work surface. Repeat this a couple of times. Now drape the dough over your clenched fist and stretch it gently from the outside rim. (I usually stretch it on a baking sheet so than it is ready for the topping part)
Finally, put the dough in pizza tin or baking sheets, and the fun begins!!!
With Tomato sauce:
Simple Margarita usually dried and fresh mozzarella, and Parmesan cheese.
Deliciosa: is a regular Margarita cooked, but you add some prosciutto crudo, rocket, you can add (optional) some cherry tomatoes and some parmesan on top…
Bacon: cheese, bacon, pepper slices
Mushroom: cheese, ham, pepper slices and a lot of mushrooms. But there is another one that I prefer…
Mushroom paradise: dried and fresh Mozzarella, some bacon or prosciutto (you bake it with the bacon, otherwise you add the prosciutto afterwards), you can add some slices of pepper too and cherry tomatoes…
Tips: DO IT YOUR WAY!

Πίτσα με Ιταλική Ζύμη από την Lise του TreLiz
Υλικά
1 κουταλάκι του γλυκού μαγιά σε σκόνη
250 γρ αλεύρι (και λίγο παραπάνω)
½ κούπα νερό χλιαρό
Αλάτι

Σε ένα μπολ αναμιγνύετε το νερό με την μαγιά και ανακατεύετε μέχρι να διαλυθεί.
Προσθέτετε το αλεύρι σίγα-σιγά ανακατεύοντας καλά. Μπορείτε να το κάνετε με τα χέρια σας ή στο μίξερ (με το οποίο θα γλυτώσετε και πολύ χρόνο).
Προσθέστε ενώ ζυμώνετε το αλάτι. Σε περίπτωση που ξεχάσετε το αλάτι μην αγχωθείτε καθώς θα προσθέσετε αρκετά νόστιμα υλικά πάνω στην πίτσα!
Σκεπάστε το μπολ με μια υγρή πετσέτα και αφήστε την ζύμη να ξεκουραστεί για μισή ώρα.
TA-DAAAAA!!!!

Έτοιμη αφράτη ζύμη!
Για να της δώσετε σχήμα κόψτε ένα μπαλάκι ζύμης και σε αλευρωμένη επιφάνεια ανοιχτέ το με τα χέρια σας. Σηκώστε το και ρίξτε το ξανά στον πάγκο και ξαναπατήστε με τα χέρια σας δυο-τρεις φορές ακόμα.
Βαλτέ την ζύμη στο ταψάκι και αρχίστε την δημιουργία!

Με σάλτσα ντομάτας: Σάλτσας ντομάτας, φρέσκια μοτσαρέλλα και παρμεζάνα.
Deliciosa: σαν την Μαργαρίτα αλλά προσθέτουμε προσουτο, ρόκα και μικρά ντοματινια.
Μπέικον: Τυρί, μπέικον, πιπεριές.
Μανιτάρια: Τυρί, ζαμπόν, πιπεριές και πολλά μανιτάρια.
Εγώ προτιμώ την Mushroom paradise: Μοτσαρέλλα, μπέικον ή προσούτο, μανιτάρια, πιπεριές και ντοματίνια!

The ombre trend

Συνεχίζουμε με τις τάσεις τις μόδας που εχουν περάσει στην διακόσμηση, σημερα θα αναφερθούμε στο ombre ή αλλιώς την χρωματική διαβάθμιση απο τον πιο σκούρο τόνο ενός χρώματος στον πιο ανοιχτό. Η τάση αυτή έχει φορεθεί πολύ σε κάλσον, μπλούζες αλλά και φορέματα και ήρθε η ώρα να δούμε διάφορους τρόπους για να διακοσμήσουμε το σπίτι μας ακολουθώντας την. 
Continuing our exploration of the fashion trends that crossed over to home decor we find the ombre trend, that gradual variation from a darker color tone to its lighter tone. Ombre has been worn a lot in leggings, shirts and dresses so now we'll see some examples of how we can decorate our home following it.



Ένα εύκολο tutorial θα μετατρέψει το απλό, λευκό φωτιστικό σας είναι η πρώτη μας πρόταση. Χρησιμοποιώντας νήμα και ακολουθώντας τις οδηγίες που είναι αρκετα αναλυτικές θα αποκτήσετε έτσι ένα ξεχωριστό, χρωματιστό φωτιστικό. {εικόνα 1} An easy to follow tutorial using yarn will turn a simple lampshade into a colorful addition to your home. The step to step instructions are very easy to follow, in a few steps you'll have your plain lampshade stand out! {image 1}

Λίγο πιο ειδικευμένο το επόμενο project, μεταμορφώνει μια απλή ξύλινη συρταριέρα βάφοντας τα συρτάρια σε γήινες καφέ αποχρώσεις, ξεκινώντας απο την πιο ανοιχτή για να καταλήξει στο σκούρο καφέ. Συνδυάζει τα χρώματα αυτά με λευκό χρώμα για το "σώμα" της συρταριέρας, δινοντάς της ετσι ένα πιο ανάλαφρο ύφος. {εικόνα 2} The next project is a bit more intricate as it transforms an ordinary wooden dresser by painting the front of the drawers in earthy brown tones, starting from the lighter color and ending in the dark brown one. It combines these colors with a neutral white for the rest of the dresser, giving it a more bright look. {image 2}

Στη συνέχεια χρησιμοποιούμε χρωματιστά χαρτιά για να διακοσμήσουμε ένα πλαστικό δοχείο. Ανακυκλώνουμε έτσι και το δοχείο, κολλώντας τα χρωματιστά χαρτιά σε έντονα χρώματα ξεκινώντας από το πιο ανοιχτό για να καταλήξουμε στο πιο σκούρο. Ανάλογα με το μέγεθός του έχει και διαφορετικές χρήσεις, μπορεί να χρησιμοποιηθεί σαν μολυβοθήκη, σαν σκουπιδοντενεκές. {εικόνα 3) Next we're using colored papers and recycling a plastic container. Cut and glue the paper on the sides of the container starting from the lighter color and ending in the darkest tone and you are done! Depending on the size of the container you can use it to store your pencils or use it as a trashcan {image 3} 

Τέλος έχουμε ενα project με άρωμα Χριστουγέννων! Χρησιμοποιούμε ειδικά χρώματα για γυαλί και βουτάμε παλιές γυάλινες μπάλες σε ενα μπώλ που το έχουμε γεμίσει με το χρώμα της επιλογής μας. Η διαδικασία είναι απλή όμως καλό θα ηταν να κάνετε δοκιμές σε γυάλινα βάζα ωστε να μπορέσετε να ελέγξετε καλύτερα το αποτέλεσμα. {εικόνα 4} The final project is a Christmas inspired one! Using special paints for glass, you dip old glass baubles into a little bowl filled with the color you have picked. The process sounds simple enough but it's recommended you try coloring some glass jars first to get the hang of it! {image 4}
